It’s Open Enrollment! Selecting a health plan for yourself and your family is one of the most important decisions you will make.  This decision involves balancing the premium cost of each plan, along with other features, such as access to doctors and hospitals, pharmacy services, and maximum out of pocket expenses. This is your opportunity to evaluate your needs and determine which plan is right for you and your family for the next year.

Changes made during Open Enrollment will take effect January 1, 2020.
This year’s Open Enrollment is from September 9, 2019 through October 4, 2020.
During Open Enrollment you can:
• Change your health plan
• Add eligible dependents to your health coverage
• Delete dependents from your health coverage
• Discontinue your existing medical plan coverage (provided you have alternate coverage)
• Enroll in a City sponsored medical plan if you are currently opting out

If you decide to keep your current plan and are not making any changes, you don’t need to do anything.  Your current health plan will continue to the next year and your rates will automatically update.
Effective January 1, 2020 CalPERS is changing regions. CalPERS is moving their health pricing regions from five to three regions.
