  2. Second Chance Week

    October 21, 2019, 8:00 AM - October 27, 2019 @ Look for donation cans at each floor of 1010 10th Street in downtown Modesto, all Stanislaus County Libraries, The State Theatre of Modesto and local supporting businesses.

    This year the City of Modesto, in collaboration with Stanislaus County will be collecting eyeglasses in all conditions for people in need all over the world. We are partnering with the non-profit organization Lions In Sight who will refurbish the eyeglasses and distribute them to various charities and give the gift of better sight to so many people.

  3. Composting Class at MJC

    The City of Modesto partners with MJC Community Education to offer Backyard Composting Classes to local residents. Two classes are offered each spring and fall. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for $5 off a backyard compost bin purchased through the City of Modesto.

    Bunco is a parlor game generally played with twelve or more player, divided into groups of four, trying to score points while taking tuns rolling three dice. A Bunco is achieved when a person rolls three-of-a-kind and all three numbers match the round number.

    Pickleball is a combination of badminton, ping-pong and tennis. The game helps to improve muscular strength, endurance and increase cardiovascular activity. Doubles play in 15-minute increments. Wear tennis shoes.
