The Curbs, Gutters, and Sidewalks Division is responsible for repairing damage to
public sidewalks that have been damaged by City trees or City utilities. It is the
responsibility of the property owner to report any damage to a public curb, gutter or
sidewalk to the City by calling (209) 342-2244.
Ordinances pertaining to curbs, gutters and sidewalks
Curbs, gutters and sidewalks are required to be constructed or repaired in accordance
with standard specifications approved by the Modesto City Council. Please follow

and construction of curbs, gutters, and sidewalks can be found in Title 7, Chapter 1,
Articles 2 and 3.
